The HVAC Outlet has been in business for many years; in fact, we were one of the first retail/online HVAC distributors selling directly to the public nationwide. After serving hundreds of thousands of customers, we have complied a list of the most common questions homeowners (and HVAC technicians) ask us:
- Are all new HVAC units (ducted and mini splits) precharged?
- Yes! At least all of the units and brands we sell are. Now, of course, I am sure there is some exception to this rule. However, a non-precharged unit will never come from our store.
- This leads to the next most common question: how many feet of refrigerant (or freon) comes in the unit?
- Mini splits are typically precharged with up to 16′ of refrigerant.
- Ducted systems are a little more complicated, but generally speaking 12-15′ feet of refrigerant.
- Does The HVAC Outlet’s units have a warranty?
- Yes! All units are brand new and come with a full manufacture’s warranty.
- Warranties, of course, vary based on brand. But here is a quick list for your review:
- MrCool Do-It-Yourself: 5 year parts, 7 year compressor. Registration required here.
- MrCool Advantage: 2 year parts, 1 year compressor. Registration required here.
- Rheem/Ruud: 5 year parts, 7 year compressor. Extend warranty to 10 years when registered here.
- Do The HVAC Outlet’s mini splits do heat and air?
- This is a very great question! We only sell heat pump (heat and air) mini split systems, because we are located in the midwest and heat pumps are very common in Kentucky. However, you have to be very careful nowadays. Many of the lower end or more budget friendly mini splits only offer air conditioning. This, of course, is great if you’re in south Florida or a very hot climate year around. But, of course, most of the United States is not very hot year around.
- Do mini splits have to mount high on the wall?
- No! The HVAC Outlet offers ceiling cassette, floor console, and ducted mini split units.
Of course, this list isn’t exclusive and there are a million more questions to ask. Fortunately, the folks at The HVAC Outlet are here to answer all of your questions! Call us anytime (859) 209 1112.
